Abstract
Women with stress urinary incontinence have the choice between conservative and surgical treatment options. Surgery can be performed in cases where conservative treatment fails or in patients with severe stress urinary incontinence. Surgical procedures usually give fast results but carry the risk of complications. More scientific data with validated outcome measures which take into account patient satisfaction are needed to evaluate the various surgical procedures.
