We investigated the potential relation between assisted reproduction technology (ART) and the risk of ovarian carcinoma (OC) by data analysis of our University-based clinical register and National Oncology Register of Czech republic (NOR). Analyzed data included 12,527 assisted reproduction treatment cycles performed at 4,360 patients within years 1982-2004. Among the 4,360 patients, 41 malignancies occured including 6 OC, a value 3.45 times (95%CI: 1.63-6.72, p=0.004)) over the expected incidence. Further investigation is needed to verify whether the same risk excists for the general population referred to infertility treatment.
