Respiratory infections during pregnancy, although not uncommon, do not represent a significant burden, however, their management requires special attention. Mostly important entities are pneumonia, influenza and tuberculosis. Diagnosis must be prompt and radiologic investigation can be safe, under the proper security measures. Therapeutic management needs to take in account not only the possible toxicities of the chemotherapeutic agents, but also the modified pharmacokinetics due to the alterations of the physiology of the pregnant woman. Influenza vaccination is necessary, especially during epidemics, since it offers protection against a potentially life threatening disease.
